Rachel Platten to Sing National Anthem at World Series Game One

Rachel Platten has gotten to do some pretty cool things since she became a star, but tomorrow night might just take the cake. Rachel will perform the national anthem before Game One of the World Series Tuesday night at Progressive Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio, before the Chicago Cubs take on the Cleveland Indians.  You'll be able to tune in starting at 7:30 p.m. ET on Fox. The "Fight Song" singer doesn't have any personal connection to Cleveland, as far as we know: she was born in New York City and grew up in Massachusetts.  Still, ratings are expected to be…

Mariah Carey & Nick Cannon Enjoy Early Halloween Party with the Kids

It's nice to see they're still getting along.  Exes Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon enjoyed an early Halloween party Saturday night with their kids, five-year old twins Moroccan and Monroe. People magazine has photos of the happy family in costume, with Mariah dressed as a devil -- a sexy one, naturally, showing plenty of cleavage -- with Nick and Moroccan dressed as the Super Mario Brothers.  Monroe was costumed as Rapunzel from the Disney flick Tangled. Mariah, of course, is currently engaged to be married to Aussie billionaire James Packer, who will be hubby number three when they tie the…

Britney Spears Battles a Pesky Bra Strap During Las Vegas Performance

It was Britney Spears vs. the Bra Strap at her Las Vegas residency over the weekend. The singer suffered a wardrobe malfunction after the clasp to her bra top came undone mid-performance.She kept the performance going as her dancers frantically tried to fix the problem. Try as they might -- and they did try three separate times -- the straps just wouldn’t stay put. Finally, a quick-thinking backup dancer gave Britney his shirt to wear over it. She was able to finish the rest of “Gimme More,” modesty intact. This isn’t the first time Britney’s costume has betrayed her. Last week,…

Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and Their Mutual Ex, John Mayer, All Attend Drake’s Birthday Party

Most awkward party...ever.  Frenemies Taylor Swift and Katy Perry both attended Drake’s 30th birthday celebration on Sunday. There are photos on social media that prove the ladies were in the same room, though it’s unclear if they interacted with one another. Making matters even more potentially awkward, their shared ex-boyfriend, John Mayer, was also in attendance at the rap superstar's bash. However, new rumors claim John has been spending time with another female pop star these days: Demi Lovato. According to US Weekly, the pair enjoyed one another's company Saturday night at the West Hollywood rooftop restaurant Catch L.A.  They reportedly…

Justin Bieber Walks Off Stage (Briefly) After Screaming Fans Boo Him

Poor Justin Bieber.  If only people would just listen to him. England's Manchester Evening News reports Justin walked off stage in the midst of his concert there Sunday night after fans booed him when he asked them to stop screaming while he was singing. Justin reportedly returned to the stage straightaway, but wouldn't speak to the crowd the rest of the night, saying "I'm trying to engage but if you guys don't want to, I'll play the music." If it sounds familiar, is a lot like what Justin did last Wednesday night at a show in Birmingham, England, when he…

Miley Cyrus "Got Too Stoned" and Screwed Up Bill Murray Musical Tribute

Bill Murray received the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor at the Kennedy Center Sunday night, as well as razzing from friends in the business, including a rare appearance from David Letterman. However, it was Miley Cyrus' attempt to honor him musically -- with a rendition of Frank Sinatra's "My Way" -- that made headlines, because the singer screwed it up. "F***, I f***ed up," Cyrus was reportedly heard saying, adding to the celeb-heavy crowd, "Sorry guys, I got too stoned."    To Paul Shaffer, the band leader, she apologized, saying, "We worked on this. He told me not to smoke too much and I…

At this point, who knows what Taylor Swift's relationship is with her ex, Calvin Harris, but Saturday night, she surprised her audience during her show in Del Valle, TX, by performing "This Is What You Came For," the song she wrote with Harris. “I’ve never played this song live before,” Taylor said according to multiple reports as she sat at a white piano on stage.  “But if you know it, maybe you could sing along, and then I could get to know what that feels like to hear it sung back to me.” The Saturday-night show was Taylor's first concert…

Rachel Platten Deep Into "Cathartic" and "Amazing" Writing Process for Next Album

So far this year, Rachel Platten's seen her debut album go gold, won a Daytime Emmy, toured everywhere and been nominated for an American Music Award.  But right now, what she's really excited about is the fact that she's started writing songs for her next album -- a process she calls "amazing." "I didn't realize how much I'd missed it," she says about songwriting. "I've been so busy on the road performing, and that's been an incredible thing. But this is a humongous part of why I do this." She tells ABC Radio, "Writing...being a writer, I think, is first…

Tyler Glenn on the Future of Neon Trees: "It's Gonna Be Interesting"

Neon Trees frontman Tyler Glenn just released his first solo album, Excommunication, documenting the crisis of faith that led him to split with the Mormon Church.  While Tyler says it led to some awkward moments with the other members of Neon Trees, who are Mormon, he thinks the group will continue. The video Tyler released for the song "Trash" includes sacrilegious usage of Mormon imagery that offended some of his band mates. "I understand that, because they still believe in that,” Tyler says. “But I would hope that they recognize that there’s context; it’s not just some shock-value tantrum." Tyler…
