Lionel Richie & Mariah Carey's joint tour postponed due to Lionel's knee surgery

Lionel Richie's biggest album is called Can't Slow Down, but he's finally found something that has slowed him down: knee surgery. The singer had to have his knee operated on, and that's forcing him to postpone his planned tour with Mariah Carey. “When you have been performing as long as I have it takes a toll on your body," said Lionel in a statement. "Unfortunately my recovery from a knee procedure will not have me 100% ready to start the tour next month. I don’t want to disappoint my fans and I look forward to being back on stage so we…

"The Voice" coaches go chasing "Waterfalls" to mark new season

The new season of The Voice kicks off on Monday and to get fans excited, the four coaches -- Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, Adam Levine and Alicia Keys -- have posted a video in which they perform an acoustic version of TLC's classic "Waterfalls."  In the clip, the coaches are sitting around in a circle, along with a guitar player and a drummer.  Each one takes a line from the first verse on the song, starting with Gwen, then Alicia, then Adam and then Blake.  Then they all sing the chorus.  Then it's straight to the rap portion: Alicia starts…

John Mayer loves "The Bachelor," but doesn't want to be "The Bachelor"

John Mayer is a big fan of ABC's The Bachelor, but he even though he's one of the most eligible bachelors in showbiz, he says he wouldn't consider being on the show himself. Appearing on Friday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, John discussed his love of the show, but complained that it takes too much time to watch.  "I'll pay 50 dollars if you just show me the entire season in 30 minutes," he cracked. "Get me the helicopters, girls crying, girls crying on helicopters...if you get tears in flight on The Bachelor, that's prime stuff!" When Ellen asked…

Jason Derulo gets naughty with Nicki on new single "Swalla"

Earlier this week, Jason Derulo co-hosted ABC's Live with Kelly, and now he's dropped his new single "Swalla," featuring Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign.  The lyric video also is out, and it's pretty racy.  Not only do the lyrics contain profanity, but the images are very sexual in nature, with a bare-chested Jason being groped by various half-naked women, and salacious close-ups of women's glitter-coated lips.  "Swalla" is slang for "swallow," and in the song, Jason invites "all you girls in here/if you're feeling thirsty" to "c'mon, take a sip/cause you know what I'm servin'." The chorus then goes,…

X Ambassadors are "working hard on our next record," says frontman

X Ambassadors have shared an update on the progress of their next album. As frontman Sam Harris tells Billboard, the band is "working hard" on the follow-up to their 2015 effort, VHS. "We have a ton of songs and we’re so excited about this new material," says Harris. "It's some of the best stuff I feel like I've written for a very long time." "It's going to be a little bit of a departure from what you would expect from X Ambassadors as you know us," he adds. Lyrically, Harris says that the new songs have more of a political…

Miley Cyrus Narrates Video Marking Anniversary of Elizabeth Taylor's 85th Birthday

Miley Cyrus is a child star who grew up to be an advocate for the LGBTQ community.  That's one reason she was tapped to narrate a new video that marks what would have been the late Elizabeth Taylor's 85th birthday. The three-minute video, released by the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, shows the iconic actress' evolution from child star, to the most famous movie star on the planet, to a paparazzi target, activist and spokesperson for AIDS patients at a time when few wanted to even acknowledge the disease existed.  The video ends with an invitation to text the word LOVE…

Justin Bieber didn't pee his pants, but he's happy if you laughed at him for it

Justin Bieber wants to make one thing clear: he didn't pee his pants.  However, if you thought he did and laughed about it, he's cool with that. A photo of Justin walking down the street with a big wet stain on the crotch area of his sweatpants went viral, with many assuming that he'd had an "accident."  Well, he did, but not that kind. As he explained on Twitter, "Someone got me flowers and I was driving, made a turn, and the water spilled on my d*** area...Didn't bother me if it made ya laugh nice!" Justin also poked fun…

Eight-time Oscar winner predicts a song with "integrity" from a "hit" film will win on Sunday night

La La Land is expected to sweep Sunday night's Academy Awards, but does that count the Best Original Song category?  Justin Timberlake's Trolls hit "Can't Stop the Feeling!" is nominated, as is "How Far I'll Go," from Disney's Moana, and a song by Sting.  But with two songs from La La Land in that category, does any other song even have a shot?  Well, yes, actually. "Of course it has a shot," says eight-time Oscar-winning composer Alan Menken, who co-wrote the songs for Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin and many other films.  Why? Because, Menken says, the…
