Neon Trees dive into retro "Feel Good" video

For their new video, Neon Trees found an oasis in the desert. The clip for the upbeat tune, which has a retro feel with super-saturated colors, was shot on location at the Saguaro hotel in Palm Springs, California.  It features the band performing poolside, and dancing on the balconies of the hotel.  Lead singer Tyler Glenn is also seen floating in the pool on a raft.  The end of the clip features what appears to be same-sex couples frolicking poolside. "Feel Good" is the band's first new music in two years.  Tyler, who came out as gay in 2014, released…

Will Taylor and Katy stop the "Bad Blood" at this year's MTV VMAs?

Remember a few years ago when Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj were feuding?  They buried the hatchet by performing together on that year's MTV Video Music Awards.  Well, Katy Perry is hosting this year's VMAs...and rumors are rampant that she and Taylor will call off their years-long beef on the telecast. There's no real evidence that this is going to happen, but a variety of websites have gotten on board with the idea.  Katy's hosting the show, and she's performing.  Taylor is reportedly going to release new music any second now.  It would make a lot of sense if she…

This is my bike song: Rachel Platten starts new cycle with "Broken Glass" single & video

Rachel Platten is starting the next cycle of her career literally: the video for her new song, "Broken Glass," features her and a group of other women riding bicycles through LA's Chinatown. It's not your normal bike ride, though: the women, who hail from around the globe, perform all kinds of balancing tricks and flips on their cycles as Rachel sings the anthemic tune about overcoming the odds.  Two of the women are German world bike-riding champions. "I'm gonna dance on broken glass/I'm gonna make that ceiling crash," Rachel sings., "So what? Still got knives in my back/So what?/So I'm…

Sorry, not sorry, rain -- you couldn't stop Demi Lovato fans from turning out to see their girl perform live in New York City's Central Park Friday. Despite the fact that it was raining buckets, Lovatics donned ponchos and hoisted umbrellas to attend Demi's show, which was part of ABC's Good Morning America Summer Concert Series.  The drenched fans sang along with every word. After the performance, Demi told ABC Radio how it felt to see everyone having fun despite the horrible weather. "It's amazing and I mean, that's dedication," she said. Pink chooses Taylor over Katy: "You can't win no matter what"

Are you Team Katy or Team Taylor?  That's the question Pink was asked to answer during an appearance on the British radio station KISS FM.  Amazingly, she actually answered the question. During a series of questions that required her to make choices between two different things, the deejay asked Pink, "Taylor or Katy?"  Pink responded, "Ooo...Taylor. Is that O.K.?" When the deejay said he was fine with that answer, Pink noted, "You can't win no matter what you say!  Everyone wakes up offended." Pink also chose "Netflix and chill" over "Big night out," Instagram over SnapChat, singing in the shower…

On the anniversary of "Shake It Off's" release, Taylor Swift's social media goes black; was she hacked?

The new era of Taylor Swift may be upon us.  Or could it be something more nefarious? The singer has apparently deleted the profile picture on her Twitter page, and all her tweets post 2015.  She's done the same thing on her Facebook page, and deleted all the photos on her Instagram account.  Even her official website has been completely blacked out. When an artist does this, it generally means they're gearing up for a new release, which usually comes with new photos.  Then again, it's possible Taylor isn't the one doing the deleting, and her social media accounts have…

Blank Space: On the anniversary of "Shake It Off's" release, Taylor Swift's social media goes black

The new era of Taylor Swift may be upon us. When an artist does this, it generally means they're gearing up for a new release, which usually comes with new photos.  Perhaps not coincidentally, today marks the three-year anniversary of the release of "Shake It Off," and the announcement of Taylor's last album, 1989.  That was…

Shawn Mendes & the Chainsmokers "Dare to Live" in new MTV series

Being a chart-topping pop star seems like it would be quite a wild ride in itself, but some of pop's biggest names are teaming up with MTV to push the boundaries even further. The Chainsmokers and Shawn Mendes are two of the acts featured on Dare to Live, a new MTV docu-series that follows Rory Kramer, a videographer, as he travels around with musicians and films them performing at festivals and concerts.  He'll also be taking each act on an "outrageous, thrill-seeking adventure," to encourage them to "get out of their comfort zone." In a preview of the show, Kramer…

Why Sam Hunt initially had "concerns" about "Body Like a Back Road"

Before Sam Hunt’s "Body Like a Back Road" became a top-10 pop hit, it had already set records on the country charts.  The song is so successful that it's hard to believe that when Sam was writing it, he was afraid it might be too shallow, or too sexist. “I wanted to write it because I thought it was a fun song, but I didn’t know for sure if I wanted to put it out,” he explains. “I didn’t want it to come across as objectifying women or to lack depth…I had some concerns, but I tried to make it…

"Five years ago I won The X Factor, and I've been on a hell of a journey," he tells ABC Radio. "I had everything, I lost it all, and I had to scrape my way back to this point.
