Lady Gaga's "Million Reasons" ties record for highest re-entry in "Billboard" chart history

When Lady Gaga's country-flavored ballad "Million Reasons" was first released last year, the highest it got on the chart was #52.  But that was before she sang it at the Super Bowl.  The song has now re-entered the Billboard Hot 100 at #4.   In doing so, it ties a record for highest re-entry in the history of that chart. According to Billboard, only two other songs have re-entered the chart at that high a position: "Control Myself," by LL Cool J and Jennifer Lopez, and The Dixie Chicks' "Not Ready to Make Nice."  In the case of the latter song,…

A year ago, Adele predicted her George Michael do-over

Adele shocked Grammy viewers last night by stopping her George Michael tribute performance of "Fastlove" about a minute in, cursing, and then asking for a do-over, which she received.  But it turns out that Adele had predicted the whole incident -- kind of -- a year ago on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. As you may recall, last year, Adele's Grammy performance of her song "All I Ask" was marred by technical issues beyond her control.  Appearing shortly afterwards on Ellen, Adele responded to the host's question of whether or not she had wanted to start over by saying, "Next time…

Ed Sheeran is planning a huge world tour in support of his upcoming album ÷ (Divide), but he says this tour will be different from his other tours.  How so? "I'm gonna go out and see the country more when I'm touring it," Ed told the Brazilian video magazine Capricha. "So I'm gonna go out and see the cities everyday, rather than sleeping on the bus.  'Cause usually on the last tour, I was just hung over all…

Grammys 2017 -- the performances

As usual, Sunday night's Grammy Awards were less about the awards, and more about the performances, as unexpected artists duetted with one another, and artists who perhaps weren't household names going into the show proved why they were nominated in the first place. Here's rundown of who sang what: Adele opened the show with a simple, stark performance of "Hello" -- she sang on a darkened stage surrounded by a circle of light. The Weeknd, introduced by Michael Jackson's daughter, Paris, teamed with Daft Punk, in all their robot glory, for "I Feel It Coming." Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban…
