The top of the Billboard Hot 100 is still all about Meghan Trainor, whose unstoppable "All About that Bass" stays at #1 for an eighth week. That makes it the longest-running chart topper by a woman this year. Last week, she tied Iggy Azalea's "Fancy," which was #1 for seven weeks.
In addition, "All About that Bass" is now the longest-running #1 ever on the Epic Records label. That means she's surpassed two classic smashes that were also released on that label: Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" and "Black or White." Both those songs were #1 for seven weeks.
How much does Taylor Swift love New York? So much that she's giving a huge chunk of change to the city's children. Well, indirectly.
Appearing on ABC's The View on Wednesday, Taylor talked about her recent move to Manhattan and how it had inspired her. "It feels like being unique is celebrated here," she noted. "The song....the fans were wonderful enough to make it #1 on iTunes, and it's selling really, really well, which is good, because I'm donating all of my proceeds to New York City public schools!" She got a huge round of applause for that.

A new Coldplay song is on the horizon. The inspirationally-titled "Miracles" is set to appear on the soundtrack for Angelina Jolie's new drama, the equally inspirational Unbroken. Coldplay wrote and recorded "Miracles" specifically for the film's soundtrack.
Directed by Jolie, Unbroken tells the true story of Olympian and World War II soldier Louis "Louie" Zamperini, played by Jack O'Connell, who was captured during WWII and sent to a Japanese prisoner-of-war camp.
The soundtrack will be released on Atlantic Records December 16. Unbroken opens in theaters Christmas Day.
Before the soundtrack comes out, Coldplay will release their new concert film and live…
Lady Gaga and her duet partner Tony Bennett are the stars of H&M's new holiday campaign, and the extended version of the commercial they shot together will premiere on the clothing retailer's website on November 25.
The ad features the two artists performing "It Don't Mean a Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing)," from their album Cheek to Cheek. The director of the commercial says, "We were inspired by the glitz, glamor, and opulence of the 1940's Big Band era. The mood is one of festive celebration shot through with a strong sense of fashion and an underlying humor.…
For Pink's latest musical project -- a folk-influenced acoustic album that she recorded with her friend Dallas Green under the name You + Me -- she's been going by her birth name, Alecia Moore. But she says fans shouldn't worry: Pink the Pop Star will be back.
“I love pop music,” she tells the British paper The Guardian. “I like flying around on stage. I have such a good time. People say, ‘Why’s she always in the f***ing air?’ Because I’m having more fun than you. F**k you.”
Well, that's certainly the Pink we know and love. But as she explains,…
Jessie J's spent most of this past month making TV appearances in support of her new album Sweet Talker, and that means she's been performing her hit single "Bang Bang" without her musical partners in crime, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj. While many artists would probably be happy not to have to share the spotlight, Jessie says she actually misses having them onstage with her.
"It makes me realize how loud I am in comparison to Ariana," Jessie laughs, talking about performing 'Bang Bang" solo. "Her voice is so soft and sweet and buttery, and I'm like, 'SHE MIGHTA LET…
The Voice staged its second night of the Knockout Rounds on Tuesday night. Once again, Taylor Swift dispensed advice to the artists during rehearsals.
Artists from Gwen Stefani, Adam Levine and Pharrell Williams' teams competed during the episode. The contestants on Team Blake Shelton didn't make an appearance.
The one-hour broadcast began with a face-off between Team Gwen's Taylor John Williams and Troy Ritchie. Troy chose the OutKast hit "Hey Ya!" At Taylor Swift's suggestion, he performed a slow, acoustic version of the first verse before abandoning the guitar and singing the rest of the song as OutKast did a…
Late Show with David Letterman was Taylor Swift's latest stop on her 1989 media tour Tuesday night.
One of the topics of discussion was Taylor's "1989 Secret Sessions," in which she previewed the album for fans at her homes in Los Angeles, New York City, Nashville and Rhode Island, plus a hotel room in London, prior to its release this week. An incredulous Letterman asked her what the screening process was, and the singer explained how she plucked devoted fans from social media to take part in the sessions.
Letterman wondered, "That sounds great, but how do you get them…
When the track listing for the Lorde-curated soundtrack to The Hunger Games: Mockingjay -- Part 1 was announced, the fifth track was left untitled, and it was credited only to "various artists." Well, Ariana Grande has all but confirmed that she's one of those artists.
