Beyonce & Iggy Azalea Top "Billboard's" Mid-Year Music Poll

Which artist has ruled 2014 so far?  According to Billboard readers, it's the Queen Bey herself: Beyonce. Beyonce came out on top of the publication's annual mid-year music poll, which invited fans to weigh in on their musical favorites of the first six months of the year, and which attracted hundreds of thousands of votes.  Beyonce was #1 in the poll's biggest category -- First-Half MVP -- thanks to sales of her "surprise" album, her tour, her performance on the Grammys and her hit "Drunk in Love."  In addition, Beyonce's self-titled album was named Favorite #1 Album of 2014 so…

Britney Spears' Producer Defends Her After "Alien" Leak, Says She's "Magnificent"

The Internet's been ablaze with Britney Spears hate recently thanks to a leak of a non-AutoTuned vocal track from the singer's song "Alien."  The audio in question has since been taken down, but let's just say it didn't present Britney at her best.  Now, her producer has come forward to defend the star, arguing that what you heard was simply Britney warming up. Writing on Facebook, producer William Orbit says, "I'd like to affirm that ANY singer when first at the mic at the start of a long session can make a multitude of vocalizations in order to get warmed…

MAGIC! Debuts Top 10, Says "Rude" Is So Catchy that It's Like "Crack"

They've got one of the songs of the summer, and now MAGIC! has a top 10 album, too.  The band's debut disc, Don't Kill the Magic, has entered the Billboard chart at #6, thanks to platinum-selling, ultra-catchy single "Rude," which the band says is so addictive, it's like a drug. "I think people just love the sound and, you know, the catchiness and the reggae," MAGIC! frontman Nasri tells ABC News Radio, attempting to explain the appeal of "Rude," whose earworm of a chorus was inspired by a fight with his ex-girlfriend.  He says,  "It's just become, almost like, [as]…

Iggy Azalea Still #1, Maroon 5 Hits Top 10 with "Maps"

Another week, another step closer to a chart record for Iggy Azalea.  Her hit "Fancy" is spending a seventh week at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and that puts her in elite company: only five other women have spent that many weeks or longer on top in the past decade. With seven weeks on top, "Fancy" now matches the time spent on top by Adele's "Rolling in the Deep."  The only other women who've spent longer at #1 in the past ten years are Ke$ha, with "Tik Tok," Carly Rae Jepsen with "Call Me Maybe" and Lorde with "Royals"…

Ed Sheeran tells the Irish Examiner that he's met the actor and thinks he's a solid dude.  As you'll recall, Ed's song "I See Fire" was the end-credits theme for the movie The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, in which Bloom appeared, and he tells the paper he met the actor at the…

The singer's lawyer pleaded no contest today on his behalf before Los Angeles County Superior Court.  And while Justin is only being charged with misdemeanor vandalism, as opposed to felony vandalism, he's still going to have to pay $80,999 in restitution for the damage he caused by throwing eggs at his neighbor's Calabasas, California home on January 9.
