Grammy Viewer Complaints Revealed: Beyonce's Too Vulgar, Katy's Too Satanic, Macklemore's Too Gay

Remember watching that awards show at the end of January that promoted Satanism, pushed a gay agenda and featured soft porn dance routines?  No?  Well, that's exactly how some irate viewers viewed this year's Grammy Awards, according to official complaints filed with the FCC, which are now available for viewing at TheSmokingGun.com. There were more than 40 complaints filed following the January 26 telecast on CBS, and most of them had to do with Beyonce and Jay-Z's sexy opening performance of "Drunk in Love," Katy Perry's witch-themed performance of "Dark Horse," and the mass marriage of couples, both gay and…

Chris Brown Ordered to Remain in Rehab for Another Two Months

Chris Brown will remain in rehab for a while longer. A Los Angeles judge on Friday ordered him to stay in his anger-management rehab program for another two months. The Malibu, California, facility treating Chris informed the court that the singer has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder. According to People magazine, the facility wrote in a letter, "Our clinical team believes Mr. Brown became aggressive and acted out physically due to his untreated mental health disorder, severe sleep deprivation, inappropriate self-medicating and untreated PTSD." The letter added that Chris is making "great strides" in addressing his…

PR Firm Cuts Ties with Drake Following "Rolling Stone" Controversy

Drake is paying the price for criticizing Rolling Stone's decision to remove him from its cover last month in favor of the late Philip Seymour Hoffman following the actor's death. Billboard reports the PR firm ID-PR, which had worked with Drake during the past year, has cut ties with him. It had helped arrange the rapper's Rolling Stone piece, which prompted a couple of complaints from Drake following its publication. Drake posted tweets in which he said he was "disgusted" that he was removed from the cover, declaring, "The press is evil." He also distanced himself from comments he was…

Pharrell Williams' hat has found a new home...with Arby's. The Oscar-nominated "Happy" singer listed his Vivienne Westwood hat, made famous at the Grammys, on an eBay auction a couple of weeks ago. Pharrell provided an update on Sunday, tweeting, "Thank you to whoever bought my Grammy hat on @eBay for $44,100. Your donation benefits From One Hand To AnOTHER." Arby's responded with a tweet of its own: "@Pharrell You're welcome. We're HAPPY to support a great cause & get our hat back. Good luck at the #Oscars tonight!" You'll recall that Arby's jokingly asked for its hat back after Pharrell's…

Pink, U2, Pharrell Williams & More Perform at Oscars; "Frozen" Anthem "Let It Go" Wins Trophy & EGOT

Pharrell Williams dancing with Meryl Streep?  Pink singing a Judy Garland song?  The 12th EGOT ever awarded?  It could only have happened at the 86th annual Academy Awards, which aired live on ABC Sunday night. In the category of Best Original Song, U2, Pharrell and Karen O of the alt-rock band The Yeah Yeah Yeahs all lost out to "Let It Go," the anthem from the animated Disney smash Frozen, but they all kept the music going through the evening.  U2 received a standing ovation for an acoustic performance of their nominated song "Ordinary Love," from Mandela: Long Walk to…

This Year's Oscar Ceremony Will Be Packed with Pop & Rock Stars...and a Possible EGOT

The Academy Awards aren't really supposed to be focused on music, but given all the pop stars and hit songs you'll see and hear at this Sunday night's Oscar ceremony, you'd be forgiven for thinking that you're watching the Grammy Awards. This year's nominees for Best Original Song from a Motion Picture include the #1 song in the country -- "Happy," by Pharrell Williams, from the animated film Despicable Me 2 -- and a song from the #1 album in the country: the soundtrack of the animated smash Frozen. That song is, of course, "Let It Go," sung by Idina…

Teen No More: Happy (?) Birthday, Justin Bieber

Starting this weekend, we can no longer refer to Justin Bieber as a "troubled teen star."  That's because the troubled singer turns 20 today, March 1.   When Justin turned 19, he declared it to be the "worst birthday," after getting into an altercation in a London nightclub after it denied entry to underage members of his party.  He subsequently left the premises -- or was ejected, depending on whom you believe.  But will his 20th birthday be any better?  Let's look at the evidence. Justin is currently on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine, accompanied by the headline "Bad Boy:…

Phillip Phillips Offers Sneak Peek of New Single "Raging Fire"; Candice Glover's Album Sales Disappoint

Phillip Phillips has posted on Instagram a sneak peek of his new single "Raging Fire," which he'll be performing next week on American Idol.  As Phillip has said in interviews discussing his new material, the song is definitely a bit more rocking than his previous songs, but it still retains the feel of his songs "Gone Gone Gone" and "Home."  The song features a string session and heavy percussion, as Phillip sings, "Come out come out come out/you turn my soul into a raging fire." "Raging Fire" will be included on Phillip's sophomore album, due out this spring.  The song…

This Year's Oscar-Nominated Songs: The Most Actual Hits Since 1998

Back in the '70s and '80s, the songs nominated for the Best Original Song Oscar were often massive hits, but in recent years, that's become less frequent.  However, this year seems to be a banner one: out of the four nominated songs, three of them have reached the Billboard Hot 100.  The last time that happened was 1998. U2's "Ordinary Love," the nominated song from the film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, had debuted at #99 on the Billboard Hot 100.  "Happy," the Pharrell Williams song from Despicable Me 2, is #1, while "Let It Go," from Frozen, is #18. …
