"American Idol" who? Fox to launch new singing competition, "The Four"

Fox clearly isn't taking its loss of American Idol to ABC lying down: the network is launching a brand-new singing competition. The show, called The Four, starts with four finalists who've been chosen by the show's yet-to-be-named panel of music industry experts.  Each singer will then defend his or her spot by trying to out-perform new contestants who want to replace them.  If they fail, they go home, and the challenger takes their place. Julia Michaels remembers co-writing "Heavy" with late Linkin Park frontman

Julia Michaels co-wrote Linkin Park's most recent hit, "Heavy" with the band's late frontman, Chester Bennington.  She says in light of Bennington's suicide last month, she finds it difficult to listen to the track now. "I've listened to Linkin Park for years,” Julia tells Billboard. "When I was growing up, my brother was such a huge fan of theirs, so it was always around in my house." New Miley Cyrus album "Younger Now" coming September 29

Following the release of her songs "Malibu" and "Inspired," Miley Cyrus has now announced a brand-new album.  A post on her website states the album title as Younger Now, with a release date of September 29. Taylor Swift jury questionnaire asks potential jurors if they're fans of hers

Potential jurors in the civil trial involving a radio deejay and Taylor Swift have been asked to describe the depth of their Taylor fandom...or whether or not they are fans at all. The deejay, David Mueller, has sued Taylor, saying her accusation that he groped her during a meet-and-greet in 2013 is false and caused him to lose his job.  He is seeking unspecified damages.  Taylor has countersued, claiming assault and battery for "offensive and harmful physical contact." Fifth Harmony unveils cover of forthcoming album

Fifth Harmony's third studio album, their first as a quartet, is coming August 25, and now we know what it will look like. The group unveiled the trippy, out-of-register cover image of the forthcoming, self-titled set on Twitter on Monday afternoon. School me baby one more time: Britney using Vegas shows to raise money for education

Britney Spears is donating a piece of her Las Vegas show to help schoolkids in her home state. Through December 31, Britney's donating $1 from every ticket sold to her show Britney: Piece of Me to public schools in Louisiana via the Louisiana School Boards Association.  As of this month, she's already raised $65,000 for the cause. "Michael Jackson's Thriller 3D" to premiere at Venice Film Festival

Adele hosts private movie screening for child survivors of Grenfell blaze

Adele did a good thing last week for some child survivors of the Grenfell Tower fire in London. According to images shared by family members on social media, the singer held a private screening of Despicable Me 3 for the kids. One Twitter user, Greg Weir, posted a photo of Adele with four of the kids. He wrote, “The amazing Adele taking our grand kids to the cinema. So much love & effort for the #Grenfell kids - thank you.” Adele has also been raising money for victims of the blaze, which killed at least 80 people back in June.…

Pink confirms new song, "What About Us," coming Thursday

After teasing fans about the possible release of a new song, Pink has now confirmed that we'll be getting it Thursday.
