Aspiring clothing mogul Ed Sheeran already has best-selling album of 2017

How successful is Ed Sheeran's new album, Divide?  It's only been out a week and, as Billboard reports, it's already the biggest-selling disc of the year. Released March 3, the album has so far sold 322,000 copies, according to Nielsen Music.  That beats the previous record holder, Bruno Mars, whose album 24K Magic has so far shifted 230,000 in 2017.  To be fair, though, Bruno's album has sold a total of 709,000 copies since its release last year -- in this case, we're only talking about copies sold this year. The Chainsmokers' "Closer" ties record for most weeks in the top 10

The Chainsmokers have now tied a record set by LeAnn Rimes back in 1998. The duo's hit "Closer" has now logged 32 weeks in the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.  In fact, it hasn't been out of the top 10 since it first got there in August of 2016.  The only other song that's hung around in the top 10 that long is LeAnn Rimes' "How Do I Live," which lasted 32 weeks in the top 10 from 1997 to 1998. Pharrell Williams becomes first man to be featured in Chanel handbag campaign

Pharrell Williams is lending his star power to one of the biggest fashion houses in the world. According to the Los Angeles Times, the entertainer has joined Kristen Stewart, Cara Delevigne, and model and author Caroline de Maigret in Chanel's new handbag campaign.   Williams' addition will make him the first man to appear in a handbag advertisement for the French fashion house. Selena Gomez establishes new fund for Lupus Research at University of Southern California

Selena Gomez is using her position to make a difference...and to help prevent a disease from which she herself suffers. People magazine reports that Selena recently made a donation to the University of Southern California's Keck School of Medicine to establish the Selena Gomez Fund for Lupus Research.  Selena revealed in 2015 that she suffered from the autoimmune disease, and even underwent chemotherapy as part of her treatment.
