Cannes Film Festival Planning Prince Tribute

The Cannes Film Festival is creating a special tribute to honor Prince,  a festival representative tells Billboard. "There will be a tribute to Prince, but [we have] no more information right now," the rep said. The music icon has had a long history in film and entertainment, winning an Oscar in 1984 for his music in Purple Rain and making a contribution to a number of movie and TV show soundtracks, notably Tim Burton’s Batman, Happy Feet, and Spike Lee’s Girl 6,  which was screened in Cannes' "Un Certain Regard" section.
