Why The Chainsmokers Won't Play Their Breakthrough Hit Live

Chances are that if you heard of The Chainsmokers at all before this year, it was because of their 2014 hit, "#Selfie," a novelty track about a girl who's obsessed with posting photos of herself on social media.  While that was the song that put them on the map and got them their record deal, they won't perform it live anymore. "No one is like, '"#Selfie" is my favorite song,'" the Chainsmokers' Alex Pall tells Rolling Stone. "But it taught us so much about the music business and ourselves -- what type of artists we wanted to be." Looking back,…

Once Zayn Malik left One Direction, he felt he was finally able to sing about edgier topics -- like sex. In an excerpt from his upcoming autobiography obtained by NME, the singer explains how liberating it was to find his own sound. “Every lyric I’ve ever written has a story behind it,” he writes. “All the hard work that went into the creation of ‘Pillowtalk’ was worthwhile because, as soon as it was finished, I intuitively felt I was on the right path.
