American Idol said goodbye to Malaya Watson on Thursday night.
The 16-year-old from Southfield, Michigan, was eliminated via the fan vote. After host Ryan Seacrest made the announcement, she reprised her performance of the Dreamgirls song "I Am Changing," which she previously performed on the show last month.
Malaya had fallen into the bottom two with C.J. Harris. Keep in mind that the judges -- Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr. -- were unable to keep her around, having used their one "save" last week on Sam Woolf.
The half-hour results show did not feature a musical guest.…
Who's the single most important individual in music today? According to People magazine, it's none other than Beyonce. She tops the magazine's list of five figures deemed "The 5 Most Important People in Music Now."
To bolster its argument, People write that Beyonce deserves the top spot for releasing her "surprise" album, along with videos for each track. By doing so, the mag writes, Beyonce "forever changed the release game." And, it adds, "Four months later, what really amazes is that Beyonce gets better and better with each listen."
Number two on People's list is Pharrell Williams, thanks to his…
Katy Perry and Phillip Phillips both have some new eye candy for their fans over at VEVO: Phillip has released the official video for his new single, "Raging Fire," while Katy has premiered the lyric video for her new single, "Birthday."
Katy's video is literally eye candy: It was filmed at Duff's Cakemix, a bakery, cafe and studio owned by Ace of Cakes chef Duff Goldman. The video spells out the lyrics of the song on a variety of sweet treats, including cakes, cake batter, icing, cookies, candy and cupcakes. At the end, we see Katy herself, in chef's whites,…
Taylor Swift has added another famous friend to her list of besties. The singer posted several selfies with Olympic figure skater Gracie Gold on Instagram this week. The pair had dinner Wednesday night and then topped the night off by baking cookies.
This outing follows Taylor's road trip through California with Victoria's Secret supermodel Karlie Kloss. She also keeps company with pop stars Lorde and Ed Sheeran on a regular basis.

Madonna may not be Lady Gaga's biggest fan, but she apparently doesn't have any problem working with Gaga's collaborators.
Billboard reports that Madonna is currently in the studio working on new music with Natalia Kills, a singer/songwriter, and Martin Kierszenbaum, the founder and chairman of Cherrytree Records and a senior executive at Interscope Records. In those capacities, Kierszenbaum worked on Gaga's debut album The Fame, but he also co-wrote and produced four songs on that disc. In addition, he worked in an executive capacity on Gaga's EP, The Fame Monster.
Madonna's next album will be released on Interscope.
Demi Lovato has taken to Twitter to criticize the website The Daily Beast, presumably for publishing an unflattering article about her boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama.
"Such a classy 'news site' you are," Demi tweeted to The Daily Beast. "Writing horrible things about people you know NOTHING about. Get a LIFE you ignorant f***s."
Demi apparently took issue with a story called "Why Women Want Hollywood Lothario Wilmer Valderrama," which is basically a vicious takedown of the actor. It calls him "culturally irrelevant," and it takes him to task for some of his past media appearances, and for speaking openly about his…
Adam Levine's new women's clothing collection -- his first for his fashion line at Kmart -- is based around the concept of the "Adam Girl." But what is an "Adam Girl"? His fiancee, supermodel Behati Prinsloo? Well, not exactly. According to Adam, it's a bit more general than that.
The Maroon 5 singer says, "I always think a woman looks the best when she doesn’t overdo it. I wanted to have pieces in this collection that any woman can wear effortlessly and still look great.”
So, as a rep for the brand tells ABC News Radio, "The Adam Girl can…
Jason Derulo has attended the Billboard Music Awards, but this year, when the show airs live on ABC on May 18, live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, he'll be one of the performers on the main stage for the first time -- and he says he can't wait.
"I just love performing in general. I don't see it differently," he tells ABC News Radio when asked if he tailors his performances for award shows to be special in any way. However, he adds, "The best part, honestly, is me thinking back to when I was a kid, you…
Big Sean and his fiancée, Glee actress Naya Rivera, are no longer engaged.
A rep for the rapper tells Us Weekly, "After careful thought and much consideration, Sean has made the difficult decision to call the wedding off."
Star magazine has reported that Big Sean, 26, cheated on the 27-year-old Rivera, but his rep says, "The recent rumors and accusations reported by so-called or fake sources are simply untrue."
The rep adds, "Sean wishes Naya nothing but the best and it is still his hope that they can continue to work through their issues privately. We will not be commenting…
American Idol's top eight took on the 1980s on Wednesday night.
The eight artists -- including Sam Woolf, who was saved by the judges on last week's results show -- performed songs from that decade, even though some of them weren't alive back then. They received help in rehearsals from former American Idol winner David Cook.
Jennifer Lopez, Harry Connick, Jr., and Keith Urban returned to the judges' table to offer their two cents.
Here's what happened:
Jena Irene covered the Joan Jett & the Blackhearts hit "I Love Rock 'n' Roll." It began slowly, with Jena on the keyboard,…

OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder has been talking about the band's new single, "Love Runs Out," in a number of interviews, and now we're finally getting to hear it...at least some of it, anyway.
The band has posted a lengthy clip of the tune on Soundcloud and has revealed that it'll be released on April 14. The hard-driving track has a feel similar to "Rumour Has It," the hit Ryan co-wrote and produced for Adele. It seems to be his proclamation that he loves bringing music to his fans, and has no plans to retire.
"I'll be your stadium/I'll be your…
