A Republican senator is officially asking for a recount in a recall race that will decide the control of the state Senate.
Democratic challenger John Lehman of Racine topped Sen. Van Wanggaard by 834 votes out of nearly 72,000 cast.
Wanggaard will have to pay for part of the recount, because the margin of victory was nearly 1.2 percent.
If Lehman holds on, Democrats will take over the majority in the Senate, until the November election. |
