News » Thrivent giving $3 million for Haiti relief
Feb. 10, 2010 An area company and its members is sending $3 million dollars to help in the Haitian relief effort.
Thrivent Financial for Lutherans spokeswoman Stacy Eckes-Borys says shortly after the earthquake, Thrivent officials offered to donate $1 for every $2 that members contributed to the relief effort, up to $1 million. Less than a month later, she says they reached that limit.
Eckes-Borys says the money is being split between four relief organizations. They'll use it to provide clean drinking water, food, sanitation supplies, and other necessities to the Haitian people. |
