News » Judge's daughter wants to succeed him
Feb. 10, 2010 Her father is retiring after 36 years on the bench in Winnebago County, and Judge William Carver's daughter wants to follow in his footsteps.
Attorney Caroline Carver is one of five candidates seeking Judge Carver's longtime seat. The primary election is next Tuesday.
Caroline Carver says over the last two decades she's spent time as a prosecutor and a defense attorney. She says she was also a member of the Navy for 20 years, and she spent time prosecuting cases, defending clients and doing some appellate work.
Carver says she doesn't envision making many changes if she's elected to the circuit court branch. While she admits she might be a little biased, she says the court branch has been run very efficiently.
The top two vote-getters in next Tuesday's primary will advance to the April election. |
