News » Longtime alderman running for mayor of Neenah
Feb. 10, 2010 Neenah's longtime city council president is hoping to become the next mayor.
Ald. Todd Stevenson is one of four candidates on next Tuesday's primary ballot. He says his 20 years on the council, and 30 years of experience in the private sector set him apart from the others in the race.
Stevenson says the city has to bring its employee compensation packages in line with the private sector, and that includes retirement benefits.
Stevenson says he wanted to run for mayor in the past, but he couldn't, because of situations in his professional and personal lives.
Two-term incumbent Mayor George Scherck is also on the ballot, along with two other candidates. The top two vote-getters will advance to the April election. |
