News » Neenah, Kaukauna hoping for higher turnout
Feb. 16, 2010 Unless there's a big primary race on the ballot today, voter turnout is pretty slow around the area.
Three candidates are running for mayor in Kaukauna, and city clerk Susan Duda is hoping for a turnout around 10 percent.
Neenah will likely have the biggest turnout of any community in the Fox Cities. That's because there's a four-way race for mayor, plus a five-person primary for judge in Winnebago County's Circuit Court Branch 5.
She says during her final check of the day, at 11 a.m., turnout was already at five percent. She's hoping that figure climbs to 15, and possibly 20, percent.
Voters in the Shiocton and Hilbert school districts will weigh in on a referendum today. Hilbert is seeking some building improvements, while Shiocton is asking for money to maintain existing programs.
The polls close at 8 p.m. WHBY will have the results, as they come in. |
