News » Neenah high could switch to semester system
Feb. 16, 2010 In a couple of years, the schedule at Neenah high school could be divided into two semesters, instead of trimesters.
Sup. Mary Pfeiffer is going to make that recommendation to the school board tonight. She says the district is facing a $1.6 million budget hole in the 2011-12 school year, and making the switch would save about $600,000.
Pfeiffer says the semester system is very effective in many school districts, and there are a number of very high performing schools.
Pfeiffer says by making the switch, they wouldn't have to eliminate programs. She admits that some would be impacted by the change, though.
The school board could make a decision at tonight's meeting, which starts at 7 p.m. at the district's administration building. |
