News » Lawmakers prepare for clean energy vote
Feb. 16, 2010 State lawmakers are making some last-minute changes before a clean energy bill comes up for a vote in the Legislature.
The measure would increase the use of renewable energy and tighten restrictions on carbon emissions. Rep. Spencer Black supports the plan. He says a special committee held six public hearings on the proposal and members will make some changes based on what they heard.
The Madison Democrat hopes the measure can be passed and ready for Gov. Doyle to sign by April 22. That's the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. |
