Plans for a special baseball diamond in Appleton for children with disabilities got a big boost today.
The Fox Cities Stadium Charitable Fund is donating $100,000 toward the first phase of the Miracle League of the Fox Valley's project. The fund is set up within the Community Foundation of the Fox Valley Region.
Miracle League director Lisa Robbins says the donation keeps them on pace to build the accessible, rubberized field at Memorial Park this spring, and open the season in June.
The second phase is an accessible playground next to the field, and the third phase calls for a concession stand with accessible bathrooms. |
