News » Economy showing signs of life
Feb. 26, 2010 The U.S. economy showed signs of life late last year, but an economist says we shouldn't get our hopes up.
A recent report shows that the economy grew by 5.9 percent during the fourth quarter of 2009. Lawrence University economics professor Marty Finkler says that kind of growth rate won't last.
Finkler says the economy has bottomed out and the recovery is underway. But he says the recovery will probably happen at a rate of around two to three percent, about half of the rate noted in the fourth-quarter report. |
