News » IRS reminds people about valuable credit
Mar. 2, 2010 IRS officials are reminding people to check to see if they are eligible for a big tax credit that is often overlooked.
Spokesman Christopher Miller says about 25 percent of people who are eligible for the earned income tax credit don't claim it, and last year in Wisconsin it was worth an average of $1,900. He says more people are eligible for it this year, because the income limits were raised.
He says more than 330,000 people in Wisconsin claimed the credit last year, and received a total of $625 million worth of deductions. |
