News » Gov. Doyle signs BPA ban
Mar. 4, 2010 Governor Doyle signed a ban that will keep a chemical out of products for young children.
Some scientists are linking BPA to heart disease, cancer and other health problems. Doyle says the new law will keep companies from selling baby bottles, sippy cups and other plastic containers that contain BPA, if they're intended for kids three years and under.
Doyle says while the ban doesn't cover all plastic products that have BPA in them, he believes manufacturers will back away from using the chemical altogether.
Two other states already have the ban in place, and Doyle says it's possible that the federal government will put some regulations on the books. |
