News » ThedaCare leader supports transparency law
Mar. 10, 2010 A new law requires hospitals to post the prices of their more frequently performed procedures, and the leader of a local health care organization says that's a good thing.
ThedaCare President Dean Gruner says patients deserve to know how much they'll pay when they go to the doctor. He says right now people can't compare prices, and it's even difficult for healthcare organizations to know where they stand.
Under the bill signed yesterday by Governor Doyle, health insurance companies will also have to give patients an estimate of out-of-pocket expenses. |
