News » Green Bay convention center plans expansion
July 14, 2010 KI Convention Center officials want to expand the downtown Green Bay venue, and last night they showed the Green Bay redevelopment authority some of their ideas.
They range from remodeling the inside, to building a major addition that would connect it to a nearby hotel.
Green Bay Mayor Jim Schmitt says something needs to be done, or the convention center will lose customers, and that will also hurt nearby businesses.
The renovations and expansion could cost as much as $18 million.
Officials hope to break ground on the project next year, and finish in 2012. |
