Last night's torrential rain overwhelmed the sump pumps in some area homes, and Ed Swartz of Ace Hardware on Northland Avenue in Appleton says homeowners showed up bright and early this morning.
Swartz says besides buying sump pumps, people were looking to rent Rug Doctors and industrial fans.
Bill Carsten of Carsten's Ace Hardware in Kaukauna says they also had a parade of customers who woke up to water in their basements.
He says they usually sell more sump pumps in the spring and this is a real exception. He says they expect to get more in tomorrow. |
