News » UW-Oshkosh starting work on dorm project
July 15, 2010 Three UW-Oshkosh dorms are coming down so the school can build a new residence hall in their place.
Construction crews are in the process of tearing down Nelson, Breese, and Clemans halls.
UW-Oshkosh Residence Life Director Tom Fojtik says in their place, they're building an all-suite dorm. He says the new dorm will feature two-room and four room suites. The suites will share a bathroom and living room area.
Fojtik says they're converting some old conference rooms into dorm rooms and changing some single rooms to doubles to make up for the 330 rooms that the school will lose in the new dorm set up.
Fojtik says they hope to break ground on the new dorm in the coming months. He says it should be finished in time for the 2012 school year.
The project is expected to cost more than $32 million. It'll be paid for through student residence hall fees. |
