News » State patrol reminding drivers to be safe
Aug. 31, 2010 Five people were killed in four crashes over the weekend in northeast Wisconsin, and the state patrol is asking drivers to be careful on the roads.
The reminder urges people to slow down, not drive aggressively, and get a designated driver if they're drinking.
Sgt. Tim McGrath of the state patrol says he hasn't seen an increase in aggressive or drunk driving recently, but last weekend saw a lot of tragedies.
He says troopers and other officers will be out in force over the Labor Day weekend to make sure people are being safe.
32-year-old Jason Hosmer of the Greenville area and 30-year-old Kevin Foate of Menasha are two of the people who were killed last weekend.
They died when they were thrown from a vehicle that crashed Sunday night near the intersection of Spring Road at North Road in Greenville. Investigators believe alcohol was a factor in the crash. |
