News » GAB orders recall elections
Mar. 30, 2012 The Government Accountability Board officially called for recall elections today, against Gov. Walker, Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch, and four Republican Senators.
GAB director Kevin Kennedy says the agency did everything it could to make sure recall petitions against Governor Walker and other Republicans were checked as carefully as possible.
The GAB had about two months to review over one-point-eight million recall petition signatures.
The primaries will take place on May 8, just a month after Wisconsin's regular spring election on April . Kennedy says that gives local clerks enough time to prepare.
The general election will be June 5.
Gov. Walker says he welcomes the upcoming recall election because it allows him to review with voters all the positive change he has brought to the state. |
