News » Senior drivers concerned about giving up keys
Apr. 3, 2012 A survey shows senior drivers are very concerned about losing their mobility when they give up their car keys.
Pam Moen of AAA Wisconsin says nearly 50 percent say they're concerned about losing their freedom, and almost 90 percent say the inability to drive would create a problem in their lives.
Moen says the survey also shows that 80 percent of elderly drivers monitor their own driving skills. She says they avoid driving at night, in bad conditions, in heavy traffic, and on unfamiliar roads.
Moen says AAA launched a new website to help elderly drivers and their families.
