News » Fire heavily damages building in downtown FdL
Apr. 3, 2012 About 100 firefighters from 14 different departments responded to a five-alarm fire in downtown Fond du Lac early this morning.
Fire officials say the blaze started in an apartment, above JJC Interiors, around 2 a.m.
Fire Department Division Chief Tom Wendt says they worked to keep the fire from spreading beyond the building at 84 South Main Street.
A man was taken to a hospital with burns, and smoke inhalation.
Chief Peter O'Leary says a sofa caught on fire, and the flames spread in the apartment. He says the damage to the building is severe. |
