News » Voter turnout higher in Appleton area
Apr. 4, 2012 Voter turnout in Wisconsin's presidential primary election was just over 23 percent, falling far short of predictions that it would reach 35 percent.
Outagamie County Clerk Lori O'Bright says interest was much higher here, with nearly 37 percent of registered voters heading to the polls.
The number was even higher in Appleton. City Clerk Cindy Hesse says they had a 41 percent turnout.
Hesse says voters were drawn to the polls for the mayoral contest and also the Fox Valley Technical College referendum. |
