News » Gov. Walker signs veteran job bills
Apr. 4, 2012 A series of bills signed today by Governor Walker could help veterans and their spouses, find a new job.
Gov. Walker stopped by the Appleton VFW this afternoon, to sign the four proposals. He says one of them gives companies a tax break, if they hire people who were hurt while serving the country.
The other bills waive the fee for veterans who need an occupational or professional license for their new job, make it easier for military spouses to transfer their job-related licenses to Wisconsin from another state. A third bill helps disabled veterans get a civil service job.
Walker says it's all meant to help lower the unemployment rate among vets. |
