News » Hanna wins re-election bid for Appleton mayor
Apr. 4, 2012 Appleton voters want the city's longtime mayor to serve an unprecedented fifth, four-year term.
Mayor Tim Hanna cruised to re-election, defeating Ald. Curt Konetzke, 67 to 33 percent.
Hanna says sometimes his campaigns have been more about style, instead of substance, but voters appreciate his work to build consensus.
Konetzke has been on the council for nine years, and he says he'll continue that role.
Hanna already tied the record for most consecutive years in office, at 16. Mayor John Goodland, Jr. has the record for overall time in office, at 18 years. He served two different stints, spanning from 1924 to 1946. |
