News » Barrett accuses Walker of starting 'civil war'
Apr. 5, 2012 Milwaukee's mayor says he's the best candidate to unite the state.
Democrat Tom Barrett announced last Friday that he's running in the recall against Governor Walker. He held a news conference at the Capitol yesterday, accusing the governor of unleashing a civil war in Wisconsin.
Barrett says he'll work to restore collective bargaining rights for public employees.
Three Democrats who were either considering running for governor or frequently mentioned as candidates are endorsing Barrett. Congressman Ron Kind of La Crosse, and Sens. Tim Cullen of Janesville and Jon Erpenbach of Middleton announced their support yesterday.
Barrett will face three challengers in the Democratic primary -- former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk, Sen. Kathleen Vinehout, and Secretary of State Doug La Follette. |
