News » Appleton keeping old alcohol sales restriction
Apr. 6, 2012 The Legislature passed a bill earlier this year that lets people buy alcohol at 6 a.m. but don't try to buy beer that early in Appleton.
Sergeant Pat DeWall of the Appleton police department says the Appleton city council passed a rule this week that keeps the old standard that bans alcohol sales before 8 a.m..
He says the department wanted to keep the old standard, because the negatives of selling it earlier outweighed the positives.
The law was passed so local stores wouldn't miss out on business when people leave early in the morning for a sporting event, or vacation. |
