News » State sets traps for EAB
Apr. 9, 2012 The state is trying to find out if the emerald ash borer is spreading.
The beetle kills ash trees, and the state department of agriculture, trade, and consumer protection found them in Brown County, and a number of others in the southern and western parts of Wisconsin.
The agency's Mick Skwarok says workers are hanging up over 2,100 hundred traps. He says the majority will go in the northern half of the state.
About 100 traps will be in high-risk areas in the southern half of Wisconsin. |
