News » Obey endorses Barrett for governor
Apr. 9, 2012 A former congressman, and one of the Democrats mentioned as a potential candidate for governor, is endorsing Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett.
Dave Obey of Wausau believes Barrett gives Democrats the best chance to defeat Governor Walker in the June 5 recall election.
Obey also spoke out about a recent video from the state's largest public employee union. It claims Barrett supported Governor Walker's collective bargaining cuts, and the union later admitted it was "over-the-top."
Obey says Democrats should conduct themselves better.
Barrett is going to be in Green Bay this afternoon, to receive the endorsements of former Congressman Steve Kagen, Outagamie County Executive Tom Nelson, and former Brown County Executive Nancy Nusbaum.
Barrett will meet former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk, Senator Kathleen Vinehout, and Secretary of State Doug La Follette in the May 8 primary. |
