The state patrol says a suicidal woman put a lot of other lives in danger yesterday afternoon, when she tried to get in a head-on crash on Highway 41.
Sgt. Jeffery Nelson says he saw the woman going the wrong way in the northbound lanes, near Military Road in Fond du Lac, just before 3 p.m.
Nelson says he was getting off the highway, when he started chasing her. He says there was no place to turn around, so he had to chase her while driving in reverse.
Nelson says the woman eventually exited at Hickory Street, and after he took her keys, she tried to jump off of the overpass. He says he caught her before she could get to the edge. Nelson says two passing drivers helped him hold the woman down.
The woman was taken to St. Agnes Hospital for a mental health evaluation. |
