News » Walker comparing Wis. to Ill.
Apr. 11, 2012 In his campaign to keep his job, Governor Walker is pointing to the differences between Wisconsin and Illinois.
The governor faces a recall election in June, and he believes his opponents would use the same approach as Wisconsin's neighbor to the south. He says Illinois lawmakers raised taxes on businesses and individuals last year, and that state is still having budget problems.
Walker says he increased funding for Medicaid in his state budget. The governor toured the state yesterday, to officially launch his recall campaign.
Four Democrats will meet in the May 8 primary, and the winner will face Governor Walker on June 5. |
