News » ATC looking for potential power line routes
Apr. 11, 2012 Over the next year, engineers at the American Transmission Company will look for two different options for a major transmission line from the Green Bay area to the upper peninsula of Michigan.
Utility spokeswoman Jackie Olson says they're required to see if they can put it along an existing power line or a natural gas pipeline.
The 345-kilowatt line would cost between $470 million and $705 million, depending on the location.
Olson says they hope to submit their two possible routes to the state's public service commission in a year.
ATC also wants to build a smaller, 138-kilovolt line from the Green Bay area to Oconto Falls. |
