The president of one of the three unions that endorsed Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett in the recall race says Barrett is the logical choice.
Colin Millard of the Iron Workers District Council of North Central States says they don't share the concerns of some other unions that Barrett used Governor Walker's changes in pension and health care benefits to balance Milwaukee's budget.
A number of larger unions are backing Barrett's main challenger in the primary, former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk. He says says he believes those unions will still head the polls for the general election if she loses the primary.
Millard says that's because their goal is to restore the state's strong labor tradition. |
