News » 'Dr. Deer' holding meeting in Appleton tonight
Apr. 16, 2012 Wisconsin's "Deer Czar" is holding a series of town hall meetings this week, and the first one is tonight, in Appleton.
Deer expert James Kroll was critical of the DNR's deer management policies, but he says the intent of the meetings is not to beat up on the agency.
Kroll says the state's whitetail herd face serious challenges. He says he's looking for consensus, on a solution. Kroll says he wants to hear what hunters think needs to be done, and what they'll do to help.
Kroll hopes to develop a "21st Century model for deer management."
Tonight's meeting is at Appleton North high school from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Kroll is holding five other meetings across the state this week. |
