News » Construction starting soon on Neenah park
Apr. 17, 2012 Construction on a new park in Neenah could start as soon as next month.
Neenah Parks and Recreation director Eileen McCoy says the bids are in for the Herb and Dolly Smith Park, on N. Lake Street, and the city council could move the project forward tonight. She says creating the park on the southwest shore of Little Lake Butte des Morts will take a lot of work.
McCoy says a trail system will eventually connect the park to the trestle trail that already links the town of Menasha to Menasha's downtown, and another trail will lead to Neenah's downtown.
She says the project will cost between $800,000 and $900,000 and grants and private donations will cover that.
The park should be open in September. |
