News » E-filed returns pouring into state
Apr. 17, 2012 The state revenue department received about 120,000 tax returns online last night, and they're going to keep coming, before tonight's midnight filing deadline. That's according to agency spokeswoman Stephanie Marquis.
She says in a typical year, they receive about a third of the overall returns in the final week.
Marquis says there's also still time to file an extension. She says that would give people get an extra six months, until October.
Late filers who owe money will get one percent interest tacked onto their bill, unless they file an estimated tax form. |
