News » Hovde wants to overhaul tax code
Apr. 19, 2012 One of the candidates in the crowded Republican race for U.S. Senate is trying to overhaul the tax system.
Eric Hovde is calling for a two-tiered individual income tax, 10 or 25 percent, and he wants to lower the corporate tax rate from 35 to 25 percent. He says he'd close all of the corporate tax loopholes, to level the playing field for small businesses.
Hovde says his plan would give small businesses $151 billion a year to invest in employees and facilities. He also wants to eliminate the death tax.
Hovde released his plan this afternoon, in Green Bay. |
