News » Froehlich sent to jail for alcohol-related crimes
Apr. 23, 2012 A 37-year-old man is going to jail for about a year, for a series of alcohol-related arrests.
Michael Froehlich of Appleton was arrested last October for his fourth drunk driving offense, after an incident at a bar on the city's northside.
Waupaca County Judge John Hoffman sentenced Froehlich in Outagamie County court last week.
Froehlich will spend nine months behind bars for violating his probation, by drinking in a town of Dale bar in March of last year and trying to punch a sheriff's deputy. Court records say he then tried to leave the bar, and deputies used a Taser to arrest him.
He'll serve another 90 days for a June 2010 incident, outside of Festival Foods on Appleton's northside. Records say he was drunk when he went into the store, and customers were concerned he'd try to drive. He gave police a fake name.
Hoffman also ordered Froehlich to spend three years on probation. If he violates it, he could go to prison for 30 months. |
