News » Out-of-state recall spending unprecedented
Apr. 23, 2012 The out-of-state spending on this spring's recall race for governor will be unprecedented. That's according to Mike McCabe of the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign.
The government watchdog says Governor Walker's latest campaign finance report shows 61 percent of his donations came from outside Wisconsin. McCabe says it used to be a big deal when it was 10 percent.
He says despite the governor's claims, the bulk of the fundraising has been happening on the Republican side.
McCabe says during last year's state Senate recalls, the Democratic group One Wisconsin Now spent over $10.5 million. He says almost all of that came from out-of-state. |
