A number of stakeholders in the battle against prescription drug abuse are sitting down this evening to talk about the issue.
Maggie Burkart of Community Action for Healthy Living is organizing a panel discussion, at Lawrence University. She says it's becoming a bigger problem in the state, among people 12 and older.
Burkart says local surveys at high schools found one in five admitted to using prescription drugs, without a doctor's permission.
She says the abuse affects the entire community, because users are robbing homes and pharmacies to get their hands on the drugs.
