News » Ashwaubenon officer takes heroic action
Apr. 24, 2012 An Ashwaubenon police officer acted quickly Sunday night, and put himself at risk, when a car went out of control.
Chief Eric Dunning says Lt. Wade Graul saw an accident at the corner of Holmgren Way and Cormier Road around 8:30 p.m. He says the driver of a white Cadillac accelerated after the car was in the crash, and it was heading toward oncoming traffic on Holmgren Way.
Dunning says Graul positioned his squad car, so the Cadillac hit him, instead. He says Graul wasn't hurt.
The driver of the Cadillac was taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Dunning says Graul unselfishly put his own safety at risk, to ensure that someone else wouldn't get hurt. |
