News » Girls hoops tourney a boost for G.B. tourism
Apr. 25, 2012 The state girls basketball tournament is coming to the Green Bay area for the next two years, and it could have an economic impact of around $3 million.
That's according to Brad Toll of the Greater Green Bay Convention and Visitors Bureau.
He says hopefully the event will stay at the Resch Center in Ashwaubenon for a long time.
Toll says they're going to work with the hotels to reserve blocks of rooms for the teams, and make sure fans know where they can stay. He says tourism-related industries are excited.
The WIAA initially looked at moving the boys and girls state basketball tournaments to the Resch Center, but the boys will stay at the Kohl Center in Madison. |
