Apr. 26, 2012 Appleton had an increase in jobs last month, but two other metro areas didn't fare as well.
The state department of workforce development reports that the Appleton metro area gained 200 private and public sector jobs in March. The Green Bay metro area was down 1,500 positions, and the Oshkosh-Neenah metro lost 500 jobs.
The state lost 4,500 public and private sector jobs last month, on a seasonally adjusted basis.
The unemployment rate dropped in all three metros last month. Appleton went down to 6.8 percent. Green Bay was at 7.1 percent, and Oshkosh-Neenah 6.6 percent. The jobless rates are seasonally adjusted. |
