News » DNR seeing more electronics dumping
Apr. 26, 2012 The DNR is raising concerns about people dumping old electronics in rural areas.
E-cycling coordinator Sarah Murray says they're receiving a growing number of reports. She believes it's largely due to the state's ban on sending those devices to landfills.
In some cases, valuable metals were stripped out of the devices, and the components that contain dangerous chemicals were left behind.
Murray says those items should be recycled, regardless of their condition.
There are more than 400 collection sites statewide that take old electronics. |
