News » 3 G.B. fires considered suspicious

Apr. 26, 2012
Investigators say three early morning Green Bay fires are suspicious.

Fire Lt. Nick Craig says someone threw a Molotov cocktail through a window of an apartment building, into a room where three children were sleeping. He says their mother woke up when she heard the window break, and everyone got out safely.

Firefighters were called to the building in the 1400 block of N. Clay Street, around 3:30 a.m. Craig says they also responded to a fire on a front porch, and a car fire, about two hours later.

Craig says the family in the apartment was lucky because there weren't any working smoke detectors.

Craig says all three fires were in a five-to-eight block radius on the city's far eastside.
